A presentation commission for a family Bible, bound in full black morocco with hand-raised sterling silver corner mounts and a centre plaque engraved separately by a silversmith the shop has worked with for years. The mounts are pierced and pinned through the boards rather than glued, the traditional treasure-binding structure, so the metalwork will outlast any adhesive.
Gold tooling on the spine and boards was finished blind first as a guide, then gilded in a second pass — the standard two-pass method for keeping hand tooling precise on a soft leather like morocco.
