Set by hand in 16pt Caslon and printed on the shop’s Vandercook proof press, this edition reconstructs a border ballad known only from a damaged nineteenth-century broadside — the gaps in the surviving text are left as gaps on the page rather than editorially filled in.
One hundred and twenty copies were printed and numbered; this is copy 34, bound in the press’s standard quarter-vellum over marbled boards and signed by the printer on the colophon leaf that gives the edition its name.
