A working reprint of a well-known angling treatise, rebound for a private client in a period-appropriate quarter binding: tan calf spine and corners over the shop’s own hand-marbled paper sides, combed in a nonpareil pattern to match a binding the client had seen on an earlier printing.
The marbling was done in-house in the small tank kept for exactly this purpose — colours mixed to order, since no two commissions ever call for quite the same palette.
